Empowerment Media with Zainab Entezar
In her documentary „Shot the Voice of Freedom“ Afghan filmmaker Zainab Entezar brings viewers into the heart of women’s resistance under Taliban rule in 2021.
The film follows two sisters and other courageous women as they organize protests, often filmed on smartphone cameras, risking arrest, violence, and intimidation to demand their fundamental freedoms.
Through raw, unmediated footage, moments of fear, solidarity, and hope are captured.
In this edition of Empowerment Media we will be talking with Zainab Entezar about making this movie, using film as a method of resistance and her current film project as she is now living in exile in Germany.
The conversation will be in English.
