Screening: Nina Porter

Für diese Vorführung stellt Nina Porter einige ihrer eigenen Werke neben eine Auswahl von Filmen anderer Künstler*innen. Diese Arbeiten greifen ein, passen sich an, werden zum Umstand, Werkzeug und Beweis. Im Anschluss gibt es Zeit für Publikumsfragen und eine Diskussion mit Nina Porter, Philipp Fleischmann (Direktor, Friedl Kubelka Schule für unabhängigen Film) und Stefanie Reisinger (Kuratorin, Belvedere 21).

Das Screening im Blickle Kino ist die Auftaktveranstaltung zu ihrem Workshop an der Schule Friedl Kubelka für unabhängigen Film.

Nina Porter lebt und arbeitet derzeit zwischen London und Frankfurt. Zu ihren jüngsten Ausstellungen gehören My Proteins, Theta, New York; Carriers and Manifestations mit Kobby Adi, Petrine, Paris; vision on the run, a. SQUIRE, London. Jüngste Vorführungen fanden im The French Institute, Mackintosh Lane, und im The Horse Hospital, London, statt. Im Jahr 2023 absolvierte sie einen Forschungsaufenthalt im Archiv von Fernand Deligny in der Abbaye d’Ardenne in Nordfrankreich. Sie erhielt ihren BA von der Slade School of Fine Art in London und studierte in der Klasse von Prof. Gerard Byrne an der Städelschule in Frankfurt. Porter ist zudem Absolventin der Schule Friedl Kubelka für unabhängigen Film (2022/23).

For this screening Nina Porter places several works of her own alongside a selection of films by other artists. These works reach in to, adapt to, become the circumstance, the tool, and the evidence. Afterwards, there will be a Q&A session and a discussion with Nina Porter, Philipp Fleischmann (Director, Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film) and Stefanie Reisinger (Curator, Belvedere 21).

The screening at Blickle Kino is the opening event to her workshop at the School Friedl Kubelka for Independent Film.

Nina Porter currently lives and works between London and Frankfurt. Recent exhibitions include; My Proteins, Theta, New York; Carriers and Manifestations with Kobby Adi, Petrine, Paris; vision on the run, a. SQUIRE, London. Recent Screenings have been held at The French Institute, Mackintosh Lane, and The Horse Hospital, London. In 2023 she was resident at l’Abbaye d’Ardenne in Northern France, in the archive of Fernand Deligny. She received her BA from The Slade School of Fine Art, London and has studied in the class of Prof. Gerard Byrne at Städelschule, Frankfurt. Porter is also a graduate of the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film (2022/23).
